According to people familiar with the matter, stellantis and Samsung SDI, the world's fourth largest car companies, will announce on Tuesday local time that they will establish a new battery factory in Indiana to help speed up stellantis's electric vehicle production.
The two companies will form a joint venture to produce lithium-ion batteries in North America. The plant will be put into operation in 2025, with an initial annual capacity of 23 GWH and an increase to 40 GWH in the future.
